Jamie Cargill Counselling, uses and is responsible for certain personal information about you. If you are a recipient of our charity's services, to provide our services to you;
If you are one of our employees, volunteers or trustees, to fulfil our contract with you and our duties to report to others, e.g. Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC. 
We share information with other charities or organisations in order to provide you with our services where appropriate. We will share personal information with law enforcement or other authorities if required by applicable law. We will not share your personal information with any third party without ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place. We will only transfer your personal information outside the European Economic Area (EEA) if appropriate safeguards are in place as required by the GDPR.

We will hold personal information in accordance with our Confidentiality and Data Protection policy and will securely destroy it when no longer required. Records will be held for 6 years or in the case of Looked After Children, until their 75th birthday. 

We rely on legitimate interests, contract, legal obligation or consent as appropriate as the lawful basis on which we collect and use your personal data. Our legitimate interests are the carrying out of our services.

How Your Information Is Stored

Retention of Records

Counselling Records (Adults)
Records are normally retained for 6 years after the end of counselling.

Counselling Records (Children and Young People)
Records are normally retained until the client's 25th birthday, or for 6 years after the end of counselling, whichever is longer.

Safeguarding Records
Safeguarding records may be retained for longer where required by law or professional guidance.

Financial Records
Financial records are retained for a minimum of 6 years in accordance with HMRC requirements.

Enquiries That Do Not Become Clients
Enquiry information will normally be deleted within 12 months.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
